LITTLE BLUE HUT, Takerton Slopes
April to May 2011

Little Blue Hut artist residence programme by Canterbury City Council.  A hut with sea views for engaging in creative practice.
Pros, inspiring sea views, beautiful scenes & sounds to inspire the flow of creativity.
Cons, too small & cold, not artificial light & lack of promotion of the event.

This was my second Art Residency after completing my academic training & I didn't know much what to expect from it. The experience allowed me to reflect on my surroundings, my personal life and career journey.

I could not miss the opportunity to experience the sounds of the sea & waves crashing on the shore at night. So, stood one night & though I couldn't sleep much the waves breaking the silence night was quite satisfying experience.

Overall, the residency allowed me to produce some artworks; among them paintings, creative writing & photographic work. "The Artist's Eye" photograph shown here was later used by the event's photographer without asking. A learning experience indeed.

JOURNEYS THROUGH THE LABYRINTH
Canterbury, September 2010

The Labyrinth Journal was a Journal that I developed as an Artist in Residence as part of a Residency Programme developed by the Creative Campus at University of Kent.
This was my first residency as a recent graduate and the experience was very valuable as an artist developing artwork as well as an editor creating this Journal. I learnt a lot about copyright issues for example, which I had to fight hard to get the rights since I was the only author & creator but somehow, someones thought that they were entitled to have rights too.

Labyrinth Journal shows a compilations of paintings that I developed during my residency. An edition of 125 copies were printed and sold.

The journal, no only shows the artwork I created, it can also be used as a journal to annotate important events & notes.
If you would like to have one or a numbers of copies do please contact me with your request.
Discounts are available to big orders and labyrinth lovers & enthusiast.
