My work explores concepts of identity and is an attempt to investigate the possibilities of subjects through the construction & deconstructions of forms. Human, woman, object, subject, maker & signifier are points for departure and subjects for aesthetic investigation. The goal is to create work that engages with concepts beyond what is visible, questioning the meaning of the work, the politicisation of the subject & the patriarchal, its identity or the lacking of it.
Inspired by culture and with a strong deviation from rules, I am interested in exploring my ideas by creating work that transmit some kind of true-life-story. Within my practice, I turn toward the psyche to engage with ideas of the unconscious, rationality & the complex nature of human beings.
My work is not limited to painting or figuration, it speaks a language of self-expression and I like to experiment with different media. I dislike the idea of limitation. I like to be opened to the creativity process and experimentation, which allow growth as an artist. The creative journey is a long one, as I see the work emerging and evolving, this is a process breaking through individualisation, but still like a puzzle, forming part of the same journey. Overall my artwork is a personal investigation to understanding life and my tool along my spiritual awakening journey. It is being a lifelong pursuit to understand life's relationships in this world and how to evolve to become my best version.
