Ascension Lorente Huguet (b. Spain) aka M.A.L.HUGUET is a contemporary multidisciplinary artist based in South East, England. Having grown up in the country side, within a strong cultural tradition in bull running and full fighting, her love for nature grew tremendously, not that much that love for bull fighting or bull running but finds both of the latests together with the exchange between cultures a great source of inspiration for artistic expression.

Throughout her life, Huguet has always been fascinated by images of people and how they are represented in drawings & paintings. Naturally she was drawn to drawing at an early age, an interest that was refined during her teenager years. Huguet's artistic training initiated in the Alabaster Design Industry in North of Spain and it was further developed through academic training by completing a Master Degree in Fine Art in England.

After completing her Master Degree, Ascension delved into her artistic practice which involved readjusting some segments on her artistic career & personal life.

Latest exhibition "Through Her Eyes", an exhibition of female artists showing at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre in London in celebration of Women History Month in March.

The recipient of an Online Solo Exhibition Award by Mundo Arti in her native country in 2021. Since graduating Huguet has exhibited regularly in galleries across England, including the West Bank Gallery, Menier Gallery, as part of the 78th Exhibition of the Society of Painters, Printmakers & Sculptors, Brick Lane Gallery in London as well as some other galleries Internationally; Amsterdam, Philadelphia & France among others.

"The Woman Animal" video performance was shown at the Almería Museum in Spain as part of an International Experimental Video Art Film Festival & at the Whitstable Biennale in 2012.

Huguet's artwork is provocative & bold and combines several disciplines. It has a personal mark with a defined style and a strong oil painting technique.
